Hospital Prototype, Haiti

The aim was to create a demountable hospital prototype, a system capable of infinite repetition so that any size system could be made with the individual, independent unit. The project explored design responses to the clearly identified geographic locations where disasters are known to occur. It tried to answer how the architectural environment addresses the needs of the user (the patient), as well as how to accommodate medical function. What would the architectural response be when the existing system breaks down or is under severe stress? How space, and its qualities, can affect the state of mind?
